Muffin
Resident Artist in Nocturne Atelier
Based in Birmingham, UK
6 years exprience in tattooing Muffin is a Korean tattoo artist whose work explores two complementary artistic worlds: fairytale-inspired colour realism and dark blackwork compositions influenced by gothic, baroque, and sigil aesthetics.
Her tattoos are built around strong composition and body flow, with each design carefully shaped to complement the natural contours of the body. Whether creating expressive characters in colour or intricate blackwork pieces, she focuses on balance, movement, and timeless visual storytelling.
Inspired by mythology, fantasy, and dark romanticism, Muffin enjoys creating immersive designs with rich atmosphere and refined detail. Her work combines technical precision with artistic expression, resulting in tattoos that feel both elegant and deeply personal.
How Hongcha works
Before making a reservation, please take a moment to read the following — an outline of Hongcha’s approach and what to expect throughout the process.Design Process
All of Hongcha’s designs, including flash pieces, are created exclusively for each individual client. Every piece begins with the booking form, which serves as the foundation for the entire design process. Full creative freedom is also welcomed.
Clients are encouraged to share references that reflect their taste- such as photos, images, music, or anything that feels personal. If there are existing tattoos near the intended placement, a photo would be helpful. All information shared with Hongcha is kept strictly confidential.
Deposit
Bookings are confirmed only once the deposit has been received, at which point the design process begins. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable in the event of cancellation for personal reasons.
Design Revisions
The completed design will be sent 1–2 days prior to the appointment for review and revisions. (Due to her schedule, designs may occasionally be sent outside of regular working hours.)
As Hongcha’s work is rooted in hand-drawn sketches, please note that major modifications that significantly differ from the original booking form- such as changes to placement or subject matter- may result in rescheduling or cancellation. Should any changes to placement, size, or subject matter be needed, please request these at least one week before the appointment.
Cover Up
For cover-up enquiries, clients are asked to provide a photo or video of the existing tattoo, along with its approximate size.
Consultation
Placement, size, and overall details will be discussed further during a one-to-one consultation on the day of the appointment. Pre-care instructions will be shared separately the day before the session.
Time Planning
For clients travelling from another city or abroad, or those with a tight schedule, Hongcha kindly asks that any time constraints be shared in advance so the session can be planned accordingly.
